In 2014 I was awarded the Artist's Residency for the Wigtown Book Festival and Spring Fling 2014/2015 for which I carried out a project called 'Wee Wigtown'.

Wigtown is Scotland's National Book Town and is set amidst beautiful pastoral landscape, coastline, woodland and mountains. It is a sleepy old town but comes alive during the book festival.

My project, Wee Wigtown is a snap shot portrayal of Wigtown based on my perceptions of the town and those of the residents. If you like, an alternate Wigtown, one that is built by contributions of visitors and residents alike.

The installation which is made from material gathered and donated by Wigtown residents, takes the form of a collage which spans across several panels. One is able to wander through them.

The aim of the project wass to create a sense of togetherness. Residents and visitors were invited to participate, share and add something about themselves to create a shared piece of work.
